SUMMARY
The Vice President of Lending is a strategic leader responsible for directing, managing, and evaluating all areas of consumer and mortgage lending to develop and grow the credit union’s loan portfolio. This position is part of the Senior Management Team and will work collaboratively to develop processes to help the organization reach its strategic goals. The Vice President position includes several facets within the Credit Union, including lending, loan operations, lending compliance, sales, marketing, new accounts, and loan servicing. Responsible for providing efficient, progressive, financial services and products to our member owners in agreement with the Credit Union philosophy. Collaborate with the Management Team to ensure that SACU meets organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth goals.


Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and supervision of the Lending and Account staff to include underwriting, loan processing, loan documentation, and approval or denial of loans for consumer and mortgages.
- Assist/develop, implement, and maintain operational systems and procedures to maximize efficiency and quality of work and to provide consistent quality service to members.
- Oversee lending activities to achieve greatest volume potential, providing appropriate profit, all with minimal delinquency and charge-off ratios.
- Part of the Credit Committee and collection activity process.
- Coordinates schedules and training of lenders and lending operations staff to ensure members are provided excellent service.
- Manage assigned projects by tracking progress, coordinating key stakeholders and leadership to ensure completion within the established timelines.
- Assists in preparing and implementing promotional campaign information and marketing, along with evaluating member utilization(pre and post campaign).
- Participate in the long-term and short-term strategic planning
- Collaborate with the CEO/President to develop loan pricing and product strategies, balancing risk and return.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain valid registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
- Manages work performance and completes performance reviews of all staff under his or her control. Meets quality monitoring results and lending and credit union goals with effective coaching.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher preferred or equivalent experience congruent with the position.
- Coaching/direct leadership/management experience within the past three years. 
- Knowledge of the Credit Union Act, Bylaws, Lending Regulations, Bank Secrecy Act and related laws, and other applicable laws & regulations.
- Must have the ability to exercise good judgment, problem-solving ability, work independently, prioritize workload, attention to detail, and work well under pressure while maintaining a positive, professional attitude.
- 2-3 years of consumer and/or mortgage lending experience required.
- Proficient in Windows operating system and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of credit union philosophy, history, and organization.
